The Kappa Eta Chapter
The Kappa Eta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was chartered on Sunday June 3, 1973 on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee by 12 bold, beautiful, and gifted young women:
Dr. Debra Ann Bent, Belinda Juanita Bender, Pamela Gail Camble, Cheryl A. Harvey, Janice Lynn Jackson, Delores Kilgore, Pearleane McClinton, Lititia Jervay Minor, Dorothy Ann West, Mattie Lee West, Mary Wilder, and Elisabeth Words.
These dynamic and trailblazing women were inspired by the footsteps of the original 22 Founding Members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and they sought to uplift, educate, enlighten, and captivate their college campus and surrounding community. Swiftly expanding in number, the Kappa Eta chapter was designated as the sole chapter for collegiates in the Milwaukee area!
The Kappa Eta Chapter can be found on the campuses of Marquette University, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Cardinal Stritch University, Mount Mary College, and Alverno College.

"The Delta girl is one who has been given the opportunity of education and broad development: she is one who has enjoyed the privileges of culture and selected environment... It is pleasing to a heartfelt depth to see her not as self centered, not desirous of selfish power, not wanting the plaudits of people, not wanting glory- but with a purpose which directs her activities and all that she may control toward lifting somebody else." - Mary McCleod-Bethune
